Sit tight kids! Heading in next week to finish the mix on our next album. Can't wait to let you all hear it.

Our long-time guitarist Kahil has after much thought regrettably decided to part ways with the band to pursue other musical interests overseas. It's a shame to see him go, but before he left we were able to squeeze in some studio time with him, so you can still check his work out on our next release.

After a solid week of soldering and cursing and gently nurturing the AutoLocator, Tom (our good friend and engineer), has finally got the 2 inch up and running at his house. Good form sir! Tracking for the next album has now begun so stay tuned...
Head to twoinchlifestyle.blogspot.com to see some pics of the studio/house and a Shaolin Afronaut's session, alongside some philosophical ramblings from Ross.

Inspired by the sounds of the early American soul music circuit and with an authenticity and musicianship beyond their years, The Transatlantics are the new face of Australian soul.
Signed to UK-based Freestyle Records in 2010, The Transatlantic's amazing live show has taken the band across the country to perform at festivals including Falls Festival, Big Day Out, Playground Weekender and Parklife and the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Marva Whitney, Roy Ayers, The Menahan St Band and Eddie Bo.
Stylistically, The Transatlantics are an evolution on the long history of the soul music tradition, drawing influences all the way from Sam Cooke through to Muscle Shoals and to Motown. It's these influences and familiar sounds combined with the fresh approach of a bunch of kids from Adelaide that is bringing the feeling and spirit of soul music back into the 21st century.

The Transatlantics are:
Tara Lynch // Vocals
Naomi Keyte // Vocals
Laura Knowling // Vocals
Randall "Country" Ridge jnr // Guitar
Kyra Schwarz // Trombone
Kevin van der Zwaag // Drums
Chris Weber // Trumpet
Jon "Sugarcane" Hunt // Baritone Saxophone
